ContraVest

Background
ContraVest is an apartment development, construction and property management company that builds upscale family communities.
Requirements
Recruiting skilled individuals in the construction industry can be challenging. The workload at ContraVest was increasing and their BIM (Building Information Modelling) technician was finding it difficult to keep up. The company recognised that she needed support, but they hadn’t been able to find it.
Steve Ogier, the CEO of ContraVest, had heard about Resource Worldwide through a professional industry podcast. He had previously explored the concept of using overseas resources, but had never had a good point of contact. However, after hearing the podcast he reached out to Resource Worldwide.
The Solution
Resource Worldwide has a consultative approach, meaning they work with clients to explore the requirements, ensuring that the best outcome is always found. From that, Resource Worldwide will then do a candidate search and verification, they will arrange the interviews and will manage all the paperwork.
Within three weeks, an ideal match had been found for ContraVest. The company added an additional staff member in their BIM department, and they were also able to hire a technical engineer to help with managing software and plans that get developed in the computer prior to building.
Challenges
Steve has been very happy with how proactive Resource Worldwide has been.
He said: “Sometimes with companies, after the sale you just kind of get left out in the open. I call it OTF: out there flop. But Resource Worldwide has been different. You don't get a fire and forget approach, meaning there's a lot of deliberate action in the process of interviewing and follow up. It’s been very positive working with them.
“The follow up has been really good, ensuring that the service and the candidate is providing what we thought the objective was going to be.”
The Future
As a result of their new team member, the ContraVest BIM technician has been given more time back. This has made her role less stressful, and ContraVest has also been able to take on more clients as they now have more resources in their team.

This includes the outreaching early on, how deliberate they were with providing the people to interview and discuss, as well as the follow up after the first couple of weeks of hire.
